| Engineered wood floors are composed of segments or planks of pre-formed, multi-ply wood. Layed in a similar way to laminate flooring, engineered wood floors bring the characteristic benefits of wood, such as warmth and soft acoustics, with none of the problems. |

| The form of engineered wood also means that, once laid, it forms a stable structure. This allows it to be laid as a floating floor directly above a screed or timber subfloor. Because of the fact that engineered wood flooring is manufactured in layers, the combination of hardwood for the uppermost layer and softer woods underneath make the floor far more stable. |
